The Process of Accreditation

The Third Tier are the IC&RC Internationally recognized and accredited addiction certifications that most addiction professionals strive towards when specializing in the addiction field. ACCSA facilitates the application process with IC&RC Boards in the United States, and facilitates the online examinations as a registered provider for ISO Quality Testing USA.

The process in achieving international accreditation is to accumulate both education hours and experience in the addiction field specifically. The international addiction counsellor’s certification (CADC) in our Third Tier for example, requires 300 CEU/CPD Hours addiction specific education and 6000Hrs (3 Years) supervised experience in the addiction field in order to apply. If you already meet this criteria, you may apply for the international examination. If not, you can start either with our First Tier doing courses individually, or take one of the packages in the Second Tier.

Online Distance Learning

ACCSA also offers an online distance learning option for selected courses on our portal site: www.accsaportal.net. The Online option runs full time and can be started any time of year. Candidates can watch course videos, download manuals and work at their own pace. When the candidate feels prepared for their exam, they can make a booking.

On-Site Group Training for Facilities and Organizations

ACCSA now offers on-site training for treatment facility or other organizational staff. We can send a team of facilitators to your location, minimizing the cost and inconvenience to your organization. ACCSA will supply the projectors, manuals, food and beverages.

What is CEU/CPD training?

Continuing professional development (CPD) or continuing education units (CEU) is the means by which people maintain their knowledge and skills related to their professional lives.

CEU obligations are common to most professions. Many professions define CEU as a structured approach to learning to help ensure competence to practice, taking in knowledge, skills and practical experience. CEU can involve any relevant learning activity, whether formal and structured or informal and self-directed. CEU training is usually measured in hours which are recognized as

credits towards higher certifications and qualifications.
